TommyTV

Although this is slightly off the topic of social media, it still is somewhat interesting. Tommy Hilfiger is launching an online music channel featuring jamming sessions taking place within Europe. Hilfiger had brought headline names such as Wycelf Jean and Kelley Rowland to the sessions. The website, tommyty.com, works in conjunction with YouTube and Jooce.com. Unsigned acts are chose by Hilfiger and Jean in hopes of winning a recording contract and to showcase their music in a jamming session with a world renowned music artist. TommyTv also allows music lovers to register to view exclusive backstage footage and create own personal playlists.

The innovative idea stems from Hilfiger’s lifelong passion with music. He states the reason he became a fashion designer in the first place was because he was never able to find the rock-style clothing of his idols.
