I found an article discussing how Will.i.am (of the Black Eyed Peas) is partnering with Tiny Pictures, the software and web development company behind a system called Radar. Radar involves the sharing of pictures and video taken from mobile phones. Once the media is uploaded in Radar, it can be shared through other outlets like Facebook and Myspace.

The company doesn't offer anything different than the other "moblog" service providers, but they are hoping to use Will.i.am's celebrity status to become a "hip, happening place for pop and underground culture."

The article states, " Grabbing the most explosive viral video producer on the market at the moment is quite a coup for Tiny Pictures, and will certainly raise the profile for the community."

Do you guys think it is a good idea for social media sites to get celebrity endorsements?
