I came across this article from March 2008, about new applications developed by Amazon.com. These new applications are called “Amazon Giver” and “Amazon Grapevine.” Basically, they are tools for making purchases for your friends on Facebook and sharing them. By creating a wish list, your friends can view the particular things you want, and since all your information is already stored while registering, all they do is make the purchase and it’ll be shipped to you, making it easier for your friends to gift you! The Grapevine application allows you to keep your friends up-to-date with you, from updates to your wish list, to the feedback on items, to suggesting them. Through this service with Amazon, millions of users have a larger selection to choose from, pretty much anything from the site. Information on both applications are only viewable by choosing to opt in, meaning privacy could be controlled.
I think this is a good application for those who does not know what to give their friends for their birthday or other special occasions. Lets hope the list do not include all expensive things. Otherwise, you would be back at square one- still do not know what to get your friend.

I think that this is a really good idea. Amazon is one of the better places to buy online with a lot of good prices and selection. Its amazing how many companies are jumping on to facebook these days. The market is growing so big on facebook that it can't be ignored. I also never know what to get my friends for birthdays so this will definately help me.
This is a great idea. I think this should be successful if launched correctly. A lot of people are undecided when thinking of a gift for a friend. This makes it easier for them by saving the trip to the store and only having to provide payment information. The other features on the Grapevine application are also interesting. In the world of social media privacy issues are important to manage. Both applications allow privacy controlled.
